Dell and Acer announced they would be offering 15.06″ MacBook Pros up to 15.699″ at a special price of $699, which means you’d have to spend $5,000 on a 15.600″ laptop to get the same amount of computing power as a 15″ MacBook.
Dell’s new MacBook Pro 15.60″ will cost $1,399.99, and the 15.69″ MacBook will cost a whopping $1 and $2,799, respectively.
While you might be tempted to save a little more by grabbing a MacBook Pro with an Nvidia GPU, the extra money can be a good thing if you’re buying a notebook with a larger display.
Dell says the 15″ will have the same performance as a 13″ MacBook, while the 15, 14 and 15.5″ MacBooks will have “up to 10 percent faster graphics performance and 15 percent more battery life.
“If you can’t afford to spend more than $1K on a laptop, though, there are a couple of other good deals on these new laptops.
Lenovo’s new 15.51″ laptop will cost you $2.99/month, and it will have a 1920 x 1080 display and be available for $1.29/month for a two-year contract.
Other companies like Dell, Lenovo and HP have all announced new MacBooks that are priced from $1 to $4K.
