There are a few steps you need to take if you have a laptop that’s over 30 years old.
Here’s how to replace an older laptop battery, whether it’s an Acer laptop or one from Lenovo:1.
Plug it in.
If you’re replacing the battery, first plug it into the computer and turn it on.
Then plug it in again.2.
If the laptop isn’t charging, you’ll need to power it off.

Wait for it to charge.
If your laptop is charging, wait a few minutes and then plug it again.

Plug back in your old laptop.
